Activities and Outputs

The activities envisaged in the “Cooperation and Tools Against Youth Radicalization” project are as follows:

Kick off meeting in Sweden

The 1st international meeting, organized by the project coordinator, Eu Diaspora Council, during the 1st month of the project. During the meeting, the following point will be scheduled in the agenda:

  1. Identified tools will be prepared and shared within the partnership order to have a common tool that incorporates goals, strategies and methods a folder drive will be set up.
  2. The punctual planning of the activities of Interviews face to face and questionnaires on line, structuring the form of interview and questionnaire meeting.
  3. Definition of the first steps for the implementation of the “Brochure youth worker against radicalization”

Interviews face to face and questionnaires online

Interviews face to face to youth workers and youngsters (young natives, new migrants, immigrants and refugees, including asylum seekers, holders of international questionnaires on line to youth workers and to youngsters, protection and young immigrants aged 16-30, hereafter “new migrants, immigrants and refugees”.

International Meeting Italy

The 2nd international meeting organized by Cooperazione Sud per l’Europa during the ninth months of the project activities. During the meeting, the following point will be scheduled in the agenda:

  1. A focus on migration, integration and analysis of Spanish and Italian radicalization prevention systems
  2. Best practices collection
  3. Implementation of the “Brochure youth worker against radicalization”

Mobility activity for youth worker in Italy

During the 9th month of the project activities, after the 2nd international meeting, Cspe will organize the mobility activity in Mileto for 25 youth workers, 1 facilitator, 5 participants for each EU country and 2 representatives of the project partners of Somalia and Kenya. For the 5 day, participant will explore together the role of youth workers in preventing the phenomenon of violent radicalization among young people and to exchange practices and experiences.

International meeting in Kenya

Social View Kenya, a project partner, will organize the 3rd International meeting during the 14th month of the project activity. During the meeting, the following point will be scheduled in the agenda:

  1. Immigration focus, welcoming asylum seekers migrants in Kenya
  2. Best practices collection
  3. Implementation of the “Brochure youth worker against radicalization”

The third international meeting will be also occasion to check all the financial document and draw up the internal monitoring report. The duration of international meeting is planned for 2 days

Mobility activity for youth worker in Kenya

Social View Kenya will organize the mobility activity in Nairobi during fourteenth month of project, for 20 youth workers of Somalia and Kenya (1 facilitator, 10 youth workers for each country and 2 representatives of partner project)

During the 4 days, the participant they will be able to explore together the role of youth workers in preventing the phenomenon of violent radicalization among young people and to exchange practices and experiences.

The four days will be dedicated to:

  • Team building activity
  • Brain storming’s, role plays energizers, ice breakers
  • Immigration focus, welcoming asylum seekers migrants
  • Refugee testimonies
  • Definition of terms of study of the phenomenon of radicalization
  • The individual and collective components of the radicalization process,
  • Presentation of the results of the survey conducted by the project partners
  • Risk and protection factors,
  • Plenary discussions,
  • The role of education in prevention formal and informal methods
  • Group discussions with the topic-based organizations
  • Best practice presentations on the topic reflexions
  • Proposals to be included in the brochure

Final Event Outcome and results

The final event will be organized by Eu Diaspora Council during the 20 month of the project activity. The following point will be scheduled in the agenda:

Presentation “Brochure youth worker against radicalization” translated into all the national languages. The brochure will contain

  1. Things to know to prevent radicalization: easy explanation of the concept and the arguments of the project (immigration, integration, radicalization …) on the one hand, and European values on the other.
  2. Equipment: the attitude and skills that youth workers should have to address these issues and theirs connected situations.
  3. Things to do working with young people: activities to do with young and young immigrants, new migrants and refugees to face radicalization, to prevent mistrust, to get to know each other, to talk about their diversity, to address “hot” topics such as religion, gender.
  4. Frequently asked questions about travelers: a section dedicated to answering the questions of youth workers emerged during the investigation phase.
  5. Forum: suggestions, warnings and case histories of other young workers

Participants of the event will include:

  1. Education providers & representatives
  2. Local and regional political representatives in educational field
  3. Youngsters including, new migrants, immigrants and refugees
  4. Young people interested in the topic, including immigrants and refugees
  5. Professionals and volunteers having opportunities to work with, or on behalf of young people, in different settings, including teachers, social workers and civil servants.
